Strong winds and new snow will overload weak layers in the snowpack and result in large, natural avalanches that could reach 2-5 feet deep.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Hatcher Pass until February 19th at 4am.
Winds at 4500′ at 6am this morning reached SE 50 mph and gusted 79 mph. Today and tonight we are expecting more snow, potentially reaching 12-17″ of accumulation.
