We recently implemented the National Avalanche Center (NAC) web platform for our forecast and observations pages. The forecast products will continue to have all of the features we have used in the past – Danger Rating, Bottom Line, Problem Type, Problem Rose, Size, Likelihood, etc. The Chugach National Forest Avalanche Information Center has also made this platform transition, and we’re happy that our users who access both locations will continue to see the same design and functionality across both sites.
Observations Platform
The new observations platform is streamlined to make it easier for you to share observations. It still has fields to share place names, photos, and notes on what you saw, but the layout looks different.
There are short and long form options – the short form is designed to be quick, easy, and usable by anyone, and the long form provides more options for detailed information if you have it. Below is a video that gives step-by-step instructions on how to submit an observation.
Click here to submit an observation, and as always – email us at info@hpavalanche.org with any questions while using these forms.
