Thanks to funding from the Mat-Su Health Foundation and Mat-Su Borough, HPAC has been providing free avalanche awareness classes in our Mat-Su Valley schools since 2020. We’d love to come to your school – fill out the form below to set up a class.
HPAC does not teach recreational or professional level avalanche courses. We are happy to discuss custom avalanche awareness and rescue classes taught by HPAC staff – send us an email with your training goals to info@hpavalanche.org.We recommend the following local providers for certification-based or motorized-specific avalanche training.
Alaska Avalanche School – Extensive course offerings including intro, Recreational Level 1 and 2, Professional Level 1, 2, and Resscue, motorized-specific, glacier travel, and youth avalanche courses.
Alaska Guide Collective – Recreational Level 1 and 2, Intro to Backcountry, and customized guiding.
Red Raven Guides – Recreational Level 1 and customized guiding.
Alaska Safe Riders – Snowmachine basic rider, mountain rider, and snowmachine glacier travel and rescue classes
