Avalanche Rescue Workshop

Hatcher Pass – Fishhook (Marmot) Lot
All skill levels and modes of transportation welcome! This is a community oriented rescue-focused clinic for winter backcountry travelers. Open to all and free to attend.
- Practice companion rescue (bring your gear, limited supply of loaner gear will be available).
- Learn the basics if you have never done rescue. Refine skills if you are intermediate-advanced.
- Advanced clinics (multiple burials, deep burial considerations) available on request.
- Review warning signs of an unstable snowpack.
- Learn about opportunities and resources available from local avalanche organizations, including HPAC, AK Safe Riders, Alaska Avalanche School, CNFAIC, AMRG, and Anchorage Nordic Ski Patrol, AMDS, and Backcountry Bike & Ski
