HEADS UP! Avalanche conditions are elevated!
Dangerous avalanche conditions, careful snowpack evaluation, cautious route-finding and conservative decision-making essential.
Human triggered avalanches are likely.
Natural avalanches may be possible if winds speeds pick up.
See archived forecasts for recent information and review recent observations.
The last 24 hours brought a significant storm system with a heavy accumulation of new snow, accompanied by winds capable of drifting snow.
This storm comes on the heels of the 12/17-18 storm which brought a foot of new snow and resulted in natural avalanches and one human triggered avalanche with a partial burial on Saturday.
Weak snow and poor structure buried in the snowpack will not be able to handle these new loads without avalanche results.
